Dear All
Thought I best say hello to you all, from sunny Yorkshire.

Well what's been happening here? I am near the end of my 2nd year here as a Full Time Circuit Youth Children Family Worker in the Airedale Circuit in West Yorkshire. I cover 7 churches out of the 18, we have in our Circuit, including an ecumenical Messy Church.

Wow it has been very busy, but exciting too!!

Our theme this year has been 'Pilgrimage' and we started the year walking in silence as a staff team in all weathers around the 18 churches over 11 weeks, it was so special and a great team building event, even in silence. We do have a Facebook page called 'Walk with me' with all the photos and experiences, you may have to scroll. We will be walking again with members of the churches over the weekend of 27th-29th July 42 miles over 3 days ending with a Circuit Service at 4.00 pm at Bingley Methodist Church.

My role covers doing whole school assemblies, 7 Messy Churches, youth and children activities and children and youth clubs, including District, Regional and Connexion youth and children events. (We are taking 5, 11 years -18 year olds to 3generate this year in November, 1 more than last year). I run Toddler groups and Toddler Praise, GIFT Youth fellowship (some may recognise the name from in the 90s, when Dave Robb my step dad was running it, and in his memory, I thought I would bring it back.) We have just finished the Youth Alpha Course and are now looking into where God is leading this group. A couple of months ago we ran our first youth service which went down really well, hoping to do again next year and reflecting on 3generate. I run Family Fun and Film days, Holiday Clubs and a Light Party. I am also a Pantomime Chaplain.

Last month (June) we started 'Who let the Dads out?' a fresh expression event, meets monthly on a Saturday. Next one is tomorrow (14-7-18)

My role even includes drinking tea and eating cake with the mums etc. – can't be bad!!

I am also running 2 holiday clubs this year beginning on August 6-8th and 13-14th and also as a staff member you have all the Church and Circuit Meetings on top.

For relaxation I go for walks in the dales, theatre trips, meeting up with friends locally, having friends and family coming to visit – thank you to those who have visited over the 2 years, or I have managed to catch up with when I have been back for a flying visit.

I am now on Trial for local preaching, (subject to approval by the Local Preachers' Meeting in Sept.) but those who assessed me said, I have no worries, so this is exciting adventure. I even got 11/10 from a lady who marks everyone.!!

Take care
Hope to see you all soon.
God bless
You are all in my prayers
Jo Dolman
