Christmas Chip 'n' Hymn — Wednesday 7th December at 6.30 pm

Here at Halmer End we have occasional Chip 'n' Hymn evenings when we share a time of praise with favourite hymns and stories of their importance to us. These are very informal times of praise and we conclude each evening with chip butties and drinks and folk just enjoy the fellowship of being together.

Now we are in the season of Advent — looking forward to the coming of Christmas and our celebration of the birth of our Saviour Jesus. This is the time when we have a very special Chip 'n' Hymn evening — the Christmas Chip 'n' Hymn — more a Chip 'n' Carol really.

So we invite you to come and join the celebration with our Christmas Chip 'n' Hymn. There will be congregational carols, music by the Unity Choir and our invited guests, soloist Philip Cartwright, accompanied by Stefan Andrusyschyn on accordion. All followed with chip butties and drinks — come and join us you will be very welcome.

Well, another successful conclusion to Halmer End Methodist Church's 2020 Christmas Shoebox Appeal despite having concerns that we would be struggling to achieve anything like the 343 we filled in 2019 due to the ongoing pandemic. However, we continued to receive hand knitted donations from our wonderful group of knitters, and continued to collect other appropriate shoebox contents from...
