Methodist Women in Britain, MWiB, has a proud heritage stemming from the twin roots of Women's Work, founded in 1858, to support the training and care for women missionaries and Women's Fellowship started in 1945 out of concern to address social problems resulting from war. They converged in 1987 to form Women's Network.
In 2011 MWiB was launched as an independent, self-financing organisation.
The aim is to connect women with an interest in creative spirituality and a passion for global social justice.
Each year there is an Easter Offering throughout the Methodist Church to raise money for World Church, an organisation which supports our mission partners overseas.
The Easter offering service 2017, "Shine like stars", from Philippians Ch 2 verse 15, features stories from nationals in Mission appointments in Brazil, Ghana and Pakistan.
More details about MWib can be found from their web site here. Our photos, used with permission of MWiB, show details about their work for Social Action, Prayer and Study, News and Events and all about MWiB.
