Heritage Talk at Englesea Brook Museum on Sat. 11th August 2018
Dr. Jill Barber will give a talk entitled 'Hidden Voices' — Stories of women within Primitive Methodism.
The talk will commence at 10.30 and conclude at 11.30 am. Drinks will be available from 10.00 am.
This talk will include the story of Hannah Maria Knowles, one of the first Primitive Methodist women itinerant preachers. She sailed to America with the first missionaries in 1829, but as a married woman her husband got all the credit!
This is a free event but donations will be appreciated.
