During the pandemic the Guides, Brownies and Rainbows units have not completely been closed. The Guiders have kept in contact with the girls on our Facebook site and occasional texts. The parents all have direct numbers for a point of contact with the leaders. There has also been a lot of information and activities that we have directed the girls to on the web site www girlguiding.org.uk. These are titled Adventures at Home for the age ranges and are available for all to access.
Each section has also been given a Zoom account from the Guide Association to continue regular meetings . Unfortunately the Guides havn`t met due to lack of support but the Brownie and Rainbow meetings take place weekly. We try to give a varied programme of fun and worthwhile activities, again with a lot of support from the association.
Recently both sections looked in to Remembrance Sunday traditions. The Brownies have looked at Black Lives matters focusing on Mary Seacole and the Rainbows have even had a promise ceremony over the internet.
The Zoom meetings are good but not all the children take part and the Guiders are all looking forward to returning to face to face meetings.
