Operation Christmas Child

Halmer End welcomed a visiting preacher, Mrs Yvonne Birchmore (left in our picture) and her husband Ian, from Chesterfield on Sunday 22nd November to take the special service for Shoebox Sunday when 284 shoe boxes were sent from our Church for Operation Christmas Child. Yvonne and Ian support the work of Samaritan's Purse which organises Operation Christmas Child and have visited some of the countries to which the shoe boxes are sent. Yvonne and Ian are pictured with our local organisers Ann Moore and Anne Smith.

We thank our organisers and their teams of helpers in the Church at Halmer End and Anne Smith's team of helpers in Wood Lane and her work colleagues many of whom are already knitting and buying things for next year.
