On Monday 17th June Monday Club had a great time at Podmore Pool, pond dipping.
Not only did the children have fun jumping in puddles on the way, but also found loads of different creatures with their nets when they got there.
Did you know that Podmore Pool is full of Newt tadpoles at the moment, and that Damsel-fly nymphs eat them?
As Hanna said, "It's all part of the circle of life", but we did decide to separate them all the same!
We also found Water boatmen, Pond skater, Pond snails, Shrimps, Dragonfly larvae and Water fleas.
Thanks to Allan and Ian for coming to help us, and apologies to parents for the wet feet, despite being in wellingtons!
Next week ( 1st July) we are off to Westport Lake, on a Bug Hunt! (meet at 17.55 in the carpark)
