Ministers letter
Following a recent visit to Scotland I have been prompted to think about the sea. I was especially impacted and moved by the sound of the sea when arriving at remote beaches and the iconic Fingal's Cave.
In the Bible there are many references to sea, lakes or water. In Genesis we find the sea been created then later on in the Psalms we read that Jesus leads by still water. The sea to Staffa was anything but still, yet there was a sense of calm within as I listened to it.
As we move to the gospels, we find Jesus stilling in the storm, there were times on the trip to Staffa that I wish Jesus would have calmed the sea, just a little. Then there is Jesus having breakfast on the beach and recommissioning his disciples to go and tell the Jesus story to others.
As we embark on a new connection year, in Methodism, my prayer is that we would hear Jesus saying "Go and Tell" and that we might do this in simple and imaginative ways, using the resources we have been given.
Thanks be to God
Every Blessing
