Sankey Service 29th January 2017 at 3.00 pm at Halmer End Methodist Church

This year 2017 is the 150th Anniversary of the building of the Chapel and our celebrations started with a Sankey Service on 29th Jan at 3.00 pm. Ira David Sankey was an American gospel singer and composer, associated with evangelist Dwight L. Moody. Sankey put together a songbook "Sacred Songs and Solos" which became very popular in Methodism. Mr. Bryan Harrison was our preacher for this happy service providing the history of Sankey, Moody and their partner Fanny Crosby and leading the congregation in song and worship.

Refreshments were served after the service.
