A spectacular exhibition of Bible based stitching on display at Chester Cathedral
On Friday 18th February a party of folk from Halmer End Methodist Church with friends visited Chester Cathedral to see a stunning exhibition of huge silk panels re- imagining the Genesis story of Creation.
This dramatic exhibition of textile art consists of twelve panels retelling the creation story from the first pages of the first book of the Bible, Genesis.
It was created by textile artist Jacqui Parkinson, and took nearly three years to complete — and over 8 million stitches.
Our pictures of some of the art displays, photographed by Helen Trippier, give some idea of the artistic work done.
Thanks to Rob Kellett from Newcastle Community Transport our Mini Bus driver for the group photograph.
